Our Mission: “Opening Pathways To Balance”

EquiQi brings allied holistic healing techniques to horses in a natural non-invasive approach through the simplicity of using equine sports massage, myo-fascial release, energy work and structural integration. As well as equine locomotion from a natural horsemanship perspective addressing not only the psychosoma connection of movement but the anatomical and behavioral myo-kinesiology along with rehabilitative pattern work. Watching and listening to the horse’s mind, body, and spirit to help guide… a gentle touch can open many pathways so that healing can begin and balance can be restored.

Horses are athletes – from the hacking pleasure horse right through to the top level competition horse. Equine massage and bodywork can greatly improve performance, wellbeing, and movement in any horse. Practiced on race tracks, during international competitions, on the show circuit and in equine rehabilitation centers, equine massage and bodywork has long become an important element of the comprehensive wellness program for horses. It helps injured muscles to heal and healthy muscles to stay healthy, flexible, and pain free.

Many chronic problems in horses are often related to soft tissue injury or compensatory movement due to a prior injury or even an illness. Muscles and joints never forget what has happened to them, so an old injury could still be affecting the horse. Equine massage therapy and holistic bodywork addresses both the injury and the ensuing compensation. It is a tool to detect potential problems before they become full blown as well. EMT will work on the whole body of the horse so the horse can function in a balanced way and release any compensatory muscle tensions also linked with recovery from illness or injury.

Energy Healing

Energy Healing is truly a Holistic Approach. It not only addresses the physical body of the horse, it embraces their spiritual, emotional and mental health states as well.

We all both people and animals, wish to live healthy, peaceful and balanced lives. Animals can respond very favorable to Qigong energy healing. Dogs, Cats, horses and more have had great results with a variety of symptoms. Energy healing work on horses is very beneficial because they are so receptive and are such huge energy beings themselves. Cats and dogs also love energy work. It is also beneficial to work on the animal and their owner together because of the strong energetic connection that they share.

Horses are ultrasensitive to energy because they’re very energetic beings. They have a tremendous amount of it and you can feel and see the energy coursing through them. Energy healing can help with a variety of conditions in the horse from behavioral to:

  • Horses recover more quickly from acute injuries, illness and surgery
  • Lameness improves
  • Wounds heal faster
  • The increased flow of energy helps eliminate toxins
  • What appear to be permanent conditions improve
  • Confirmation can change
  • Increased fluidity of movement
  • Healing address behavioral and training issues; dissolving resistance/creating partnership
  • Healing improves the Horses overall disposition
  • Can offer hope for all horses, even those who are unable to tolerate being touched

Qigong

Qigong (or Chi Kung) is an ancient Chinese art from and healing technique that has been used for centuries to improve health and vitality. It is based on the traditional Chinese belief that QI (chi) –energy—flows through and around our bodies, and blockages to this flow affect physical, emotional/mental and spiritual wellness in all. According to Chinese medical theory, health means a full and flowing supply of qi.

In China, acupuncture, herbs, and qigong are the “traditional medicine”. In the west, these same methods are called “alternative”. The preferred term is complementary medicine. Qigong works well with other healing modalities, complementing them.

Qi is the Chinese word for “Life Energy”. Gong means “work” or “benefits” acquired through perseverance and practice. Thus, Gigong means working with the life energy. Qigong has withstood the test of time and has been practiced in China for thousands of years.

Qigong can help anyone to heal themselves by doing slow, conscious movements, using visualization and meditation. It teaches you to connect to your body; to move consciously to collect, concentrate and manipulate your life force energy (Qi). Regular practice of Qigong has been shown to provide relief from medical conditions including diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, allergies, cysts and tumors, headaches, fibromyalgia, stroke and auto-immune disorders. It’s easy to learn and wonderful to know that we have resources to heal our own body and take charge of our health. Qigong can be practiced as a complete and independent system of self-healing. We are all healers for ourselves.

As a Qigong Practitioner and Instructor Rebekah helps to identify and remove blockages and redirect Qi to restore and facilitate opening the energetic pathways to allow the energy to go where it’s needed. The healing energy increases both the vital energy and overall health in humans and animals alike, opening pathways to balance.
